Kids’ Learn to Sail Course

Lake Auman now has seven new young sailors, thanks to the “Kids’ Learn to Sail” course on July 21-23.  The course was sponsored by the Events Committee, and taught by members of the Seven Lakes Sailing Club.  All of the students quickly learned and performed skills on the lake using borrowed American 14-6 and Sunfish sailboats.

A very special thanks is due to Mary Anne and Bob Fewkes, Jan Gustafson, Dan Blue, Mercedes Herdrich and Jane Sessler for instructing these very enthusiastic students.

Dick Williams and Don Pollard served as safety boats.  John and Mandy Goodman, Ed and Diane Silberhorn, Mercedes Herdrich, Lee Foreman, Dan Blue, Jan Gustafson, Mary Ann Fewkes and Jane Sessler loaned their sailboats for the course.  Jan and Gus Gustafson generously hosted the group at their home and waterfront.
