Text Box: CANDIDATES' FORUM
The Seven Lakes Civic Group, League of Women Voters of Moore County and the Moore County Chapter of the NAACP are co-sponsoring a Candidates' Forum for candidates with opposition for the North Carolina Legislature and the Moore County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday evening, April 15 at the West Side Community Center from 7--9.  Greg Hankins, Editor of the Seven Lakes Times will be the moderator.

SLCG focuses on events and issues "outside the gates," striving for decisions that favorably affect the Seven Lakes community.  Typical issues on the SLCG's agenda are:

1.  Working to ensure adequate water supplies to meet the growing needs of the Seven Lakes Community;

2.  Working with NCDOT  on HWY 211 planning and local road and traffic issues;

3.  Working with the Seven Lakes Business Guild on issues of mutual concern, i.e. DOT takeover of village roads;

4.  Supporting village beautification projects

5.  Participating with County Planning Department on Small Area Planning (SAP); and

6.  Working with Seven Lakes Community businesses and residents on the "Village of Tomorrow" project.
