Pool News
There is a severe shortage of lifeguards in Moore County this Summer. Because of that it is possible that our pool hours may have to be curtailed somewhat if lifeguards cannot be found. Anyone who knows of anyone that would like to work as a lifeguard this Summer please have them get in touch with the Landowners Office as soon as possible.
Lifeguards must be Red Cross certified in order to be employed.
The Board of Directors has approved the rental of our pool for private parties this Summer. If you are interested in having a private pool party, you may contact the Landowners Office for details.
Boat and Trailer news
Be advised that it is against Seven Lakes West regulations to have a boat and trailer or utility trailer parked on your property. This regulation has not been enforced lately due to a lack of space for storage. The new boat and trailer storage yard is now available and there is ample room for you. Please contact the Landowners Office, to rent your space.
Effective June 1, this regulation will be strictly enforced by our Compliance officer.

Lake Quality

Testing for harmful (coliform) bacteria has just been completed in Lake Auman. The results are as follows. Units reported are colonies per 100 ml of water. Numbers greater than 235 are considered dangerous for human contact with the water. Johnson Point swim area = 4. Ski Area = 2. Island Beach = 31. Raft/Dock at the Island = 33. Water adjacent to lot 3314 = 6. Values in the 2 to 10 range are typical for most areas of the lake. The relatively high values around the island are evidently the result of Canada Geese nesting on the island this time of year. After nesting activity ceases, the bacteria count in the water near the island has always returned to normal. All locations tested are safe for swimming, although you might want to wait another month to swim at the island.
If you ever suspect your or your neighbor’s septic system is malfunctioning, let me know and identify the lot number. I will have the adjacent water tested.

RECONSTRUCTION ON
LAKEWAY DRIVE:
Reconstruction of the Lakeway Drive exit roadway is schedule to start June 12th. The exit side will be closed from Longleaf Drive to the Mail House from June 12th to August 18th, or completion of the work, whichever comes first. All traffic from Longleaf Drive will exit at the East Gate (NC 73) during the closure period. Both the NC 211 and NC 73 entrance Gates will remain in operation as usual.
BOAT & TRAILER STORAGE YARD:
There are still a number of the units in the old yard area and non-sailboats units in the Sailboat area near Johnson Point that have to be relocated. Please call me, Ray MacKay at 673-1690, for a Bay assignment. Your cooperation is appreciated!
MOTHER EARTH:
The Eagle Springs Recycling center now accepts plastic bottles and jugs. The center is located 4 mile from the Seven Lakes traffic light; turn left on Eagle Springs Road, opposite NC 705 on NC 211. The Recycle center is about a half a mile on your right. This center also takes all the items that the West End center does too.
